Shirley A. Sturgeon

Shirley A. Sturgeon, 66, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., was born Jan. 25, 1942, at St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of the late Louis William and Bernice Laura (McCauley) Holtman Jr. She died July 2, 2008, at Mountain Home, Ark.

She worked as a secretary for the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church where she was a member.

She is survived by: her son, Richard H. Sturgeon III of Hot Springs, Ark.; a brother, Louis William Holtman III of Cabot, Ark.; a niece, Diane Pingel of Memphis, Tenn.; a nephew, Ron Holtman of Rosemont, Ill.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services were held July 7 at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Horseshoe Bend with Pastor David Tews officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Barker's Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel in Horseshoe Bend.
