Formal charges from two counties have been brought against a Violet Hill couple that was earlier arrested in connection with armed robbery of a Paragould drug store. In Izard County, Dennis William Destefano and Jennifer F. Destefano were each charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to delivery, a class "y" felony. Bond on the Izard County charges was set at $100,000. Paragould charges against were formalized to include aggravated robbery, a class "y" felony and theft of property, a class "b" felony. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said the couple was transported from the Izard County Detention Facility to Greene County where he understands they are being held without bond.
In another drug related arrest, Zetta Beliew, 50, of Highway 9 south of Melbourne was arrested July 3 on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of an instrument. After obtaining a search warrant of her residence, Izard County deputies searched her house and premises and found growing marijuana plants and a smoking pipe. Beliew turned herself into authorities and was later released on a court appearance bond of $2,335.
Ernest Joseph Richard, 22, of Salem was arrested July 4 on the charge of driving while intoxicated-second offense and careless driving. Richard remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $2,805 bond.
In another alcohol related arrest, Joshua Joseph Robinson, 25, of Melbourne was arrested July 5 on the charge of public intoxication. Robinson remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
Alcohol charges to include public intoxication and obstructing governmental operations were brought against Shelby Jean Jones, 46, of Mountain Home. Jones posted bond the following day in the amount of $1,310 and given a district court date
Dale Eugene Hughes, 47, of Calico Rock was arrested July 1 following an incident at a Calico Rock laundry mat and charged with disorderly conduct. Hughes is in the Izard County Detention Facility awaiting a commitment hearing.
Bobby Roy Eddy, 41, of Guion Road, Melbourne was arrested July 5 on several local and out of state hot check warrants. The four local hot check warrants are misdemeanors while the two Missouri warrants are felonies. Total bond for Eddy was set at $11,153. He remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
Scott Allen Fleming, 42, of Batesville was arrested July 3 on an Izard County contempt of court warrant. Fleming posted bond the same day in the amount of $464 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Angela Marie Dickerson, 30, of Calico Rock was arrested July 4 on an Izard County failure to appear warrant. Dickerson posted bond the same day in the amount of $1,285 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Brian Edwin See, 51, of Batesville was arrested July 2 on a failure to appear warrant and for driving on a suspended license. See posted bond in the amount of $2,315 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Carol Lynn Copeland, 44, of Melbourne was arrested July 3 on a circuit court pickup order for failing to comply with previous condition of release. Copeland was ordered held until the next circuit court date and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
