Anna Marie Moreland Rhoades was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Almena, Kan., the daughter of the late Lawrence Wayne Moreland and Minnie Mary Nazarenus Moreland and died July 6, 2008, in Thayer, Mo., at the age of 84.
She was united in marriage on July 5, 1945, in Salem, Ark., to Hosea Rhoades.
She became a Christian at the age of 12 during a revival at the Rosehill Baptist Church, where she attended with her parents and later with her husband and children.
She is survived by: her husband of 63 years, Hosea of the family home in Thayer; one son, Wayne Rhoades and wife, Jane of Nixa Mo.; two daughters, Phyllis Adams and husband, Bud of Thayer, and Janet Bowers and husband, Don of Thayer; five grandchildren, Rhnea McClanahan and husband, Larry of Alton Mo., Matthew Adams and wife, Mandy of Thayer, Tim Rhoades and wife, Connie of Nixa, Mo., Jason Rhoades and wife, Sherry of Thayer and Chris Rhoades and wife, Kristen of Nixa, Mo.; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Smith of Omaha, Neb.; and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Minnie Moreland; and one brother, Mike Moreland.
Funeral services were held July 9 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer. Burial followed in the Thayer cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
Pallbearers were Tim Rhoades, Matt Adams, Jason Bowers, Jason Rhoades, Chris Rhoades and Tommy Mooney.
