Baker found not guilty

Thursday, July 24, 2008

A Sharp County jury has found Timothy Gene Baker not guilty of intimidating a witness after a jury trial in Sharp County Circuit Court.

In November 2007, Lowell Jesse Smith and Mary L. Smith of Cherokee Village filed a complaint with the Cherokee Village Police Department alleging that Baker had placed a telephone call to their home threatening to hurt them if Smith did not claim ownership of drugs and drug paraphernalia found in a search of the Smith home on Nov. 15, 2007. The case was prosecuted by Ryan Cooper, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the Third Judicial District; Baker was represented by attorney R.T. Starken.
