Billy Gene Revelle was born the son of Raymond Revelle and Norma Collins Revelle on Sept. 13, 1936, in Advance, Mo., and died July 11 2008, in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 71.
He was united in marriage on Oct. 20, 1956, in Granite City, Ill., to Imogene Hurtt.
He was employed by Roadway Express as a dock hand for 30 years in St. Louis, Mo. Upon retiring Billy and Imogene moved to Mammoth Spring where they resided for 19 years.
He was a member of the Mammoth Spring Church of Christ.
He is survived by: his wife, Imogene Revelle of the home in Mammoth Spring; three children, Dan Revelle of Drexel, Mo., Gloria Harrison and husband, Bill of Granite City, Ill., and Kelly Revelle and wife, Sheryl of Koshkonong, Mo.; six grandchildren, Jessica Revelle, Kristopher Revelle, Zachary Revelle, Austin Revelle, Joshua Harrison and Amanda Fester; two sisters, Gelene Brase of Florissant, Mo., and Doris Glasgow and husband, Ron of Granite City, Ill.; several brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Raymond Revelle and Norma Revelle Tolbert; step-father, James Tolbert; one sister, Judy Carnahan; father and mother-in-law, Arvel and Flora Hurtt; and one brother-in-law, Bob Brase.
Funeral services were held July 14 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo., with Lee Moses officiating. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery at Mammoth Spring, Ark., with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
