Joseph Carl Mitchell, 45, of Newburg Road in Melbourne was arrested July 15 on a Grant County felony warrant for sexual indecency with a child. Mitchell was transported to Grant County where bond was set at $25,000.
A Melbourne man was cited for theft of property July 15 relating to the theft of batteries from a Melbourne business. Norman Heyer, 53, of 508 Dixon Street is accused of taking 15 batteries from the NAPA Parts Store. The batteries had been sold to Wholesale Battery in Batesville. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Heyer was given a court date to answer this class " A" misdemeanor charge.
A Sage juvenile was arrested July 20 on the charge of unauthorized use of another's vehicle. The juvenile was transported to the White River Detention Facility in Batesville.
Ashley Louise Clark, 20, of Pineville was arrested around midnight July 17 after her two-year-old son was discovered in the yard of another residence some two hundred yards from his home. Clark and two other adults said they were unaware that the child was not in the home. Clark faces charges of endangering the welfare of a minor. Clark posted bond in the amount of $605 following her initial appearance in court on July 18.
Michael Delynn Travis, 54, of 310 Dixon Street in Melbourne was arrested July 18 on charges to include driving while intoxicated, driving on a suspended license, and careless and prohibited driving. Travis remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $4,095 bond.
David Wayne Hall, 38, of Horseshoe Bend was arrested July 16 on the charge of possessing an instrument of crime. Hall posted bond the following day in the amount of $1,055 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
A Batesville man was arrested twice within three days. Matthew Wayne McQueen, 19, was arrested July 16 on the charge of driving on a suspended license. McQueen was released the following day only to again be arrested July 19 on the charge of failure to appear. McQueen posted bond July 20 in the amount of $1,075 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Sharie Lynn Kipfer, 42, of Melbourne was arrested July 16 on a criminal contempt of court warrant. Kipfer posted bond the same day in the amount of $1,460 and was released with a court date.
Kristina Victoria Shaver, 23, of Newark was arrested July 14 on a felony failure to appear warrant related to writing hot checks. Shaver remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
Loren Curtis Theybig, 29, of Cherokee Village was arrested July 15 on a warrant for failure to appear and failure to pay fines. Theybig posted bond July 18 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Samantha D. Grimmett, 19, of Mountain View was arrested July 14 on a failure to appear warrant. Grimmett posted bond the same day in the amount of $210 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
