CASA Scramble on tap for South Course

Thursday, August 7, 2008

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) will host a benefit two-person scramble Aug. 9 at the Cherokee Village South Golf Course.

The scramble will benefit the Sharp County CASA program.

The cost is $75 per team, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start scheduled.

The tournament is scheduled for 18 holes.

Lunch and door prizes will be available.

For more information, call the South Pro Shop at 870-257-2555.

CASA is a program consisting of trained citizens that are court appointed to represent abused and/or neglected children in court.

The objective is for every child to reach a safe, permanent home.

CASA recruits and train volunteers to advocate for children who are in foster care as a result of being involved in a dependency -- neglect/abuse court course.
