Clarence Richard "Ricky" Lawrence Sr., 64, of Williford, Ark., died Aug. 9, 2008, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark. He was born June 10, 1944, in Imboden, Ark., the son of the late Leonard Lawrence and Opal Watts Lawrence.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked many years as a truck driver before retiring.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and also of the American Legion.
He volunteered as an auctioneer for local benefits to help people in need.
He is survived by: his children, Pamela (Maly-Lawrence) Edlemon of Ottawa, Ill., Sheila Lawrence of Montgomery, Ill., Joella (Lawrence) Jordal of Sycamore, Ill., and Clarence Richard Lawrence Jr. of Ottawa, Ill.; one sister, Cornell Hughes of Florida; 10 grandchildren, Edward Scott Keldie, Brandon Hofman, Michael Maier, Matthew Maier, Rebecca Swanson, William Edlemon, Alysha Lawrence, Logan Lawrence, Cheyenne Lawrence and Dakota Lawrence; two great-grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Leonard Lawrence, his mother and stepfather, Opal Watts Lawrence Swetnam and Babe Swetnam; and one brother, Corbett Lawrence.
Funeral services were held Aug. 12 at the Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland, Ark. Burial followed with military honors in the Bradford Cemetery near Ravenden, Ark. Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
