Mary Edna Neeley, 91, of Ash Flat, Ark., died Aug. 21, 2008, at the Ash Flat Convalescent Center. Edna was born on June 17, 1917, in Evening Shade, Ark., the daughter of Ed and Bertha Thompson.
She was united in marriage to Don Neeley in 1934 in Evening Shade and was a long time resident of Ash Flat. She owned and operated a restaurant in Ash Flat for many years and was a caregiver and homemaker.
She is survived by: one daughter, Janet Ann Powell of Hardy; two granddaughters, Michelle Dawnice Davis of Cherokee Village and Lisa Boone of Russellville; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Jenne Mann of Marion, Ind., and Polly and Floyd Powell of Kokomo, Ind.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; one sister, Helen Hulett; three sons; Dewayne Neeley, Frank Neeley and Reece Neeley; and one granddaughter, Rebecca Powell.
Funeral services were held on Aug. 24 at the Ash Flat Church of Christ with burial following at the Wiles Cemetery in Ash Flat. Arrangements were made under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Services of Hardy.
