Lady Cougs, Greyhounds roll along at Turkey Mountain

The Izard County Lady Cougars and the Salem Greyhounds came out on top of a four-team match at The Course at Turkey Mountain in Horseshoe Bend Aug. 19.

The Lady Cougars shot a 137 in the nine-hole match, while Salem's 118 was good for first place in the boys' division.

Rachel Harmon earned medalist honors for Izard County with a 3-over par 40. Kiley Mettler added a 41 for the Lady Cougs, while Sierra Riley shot a 56.

The Lady Greyhounds of Salem came in second with a team total of 148, led by Stephanie McCullough's 44. Annie Smith added a 46 for Salem, with Autumn Coffman rounding out the team scoring with a 58.

Southside finished third with a 156 and Melbourne came in fourth.

Maggie Cooper shot a 50 for the Lady Katz, with Emily Carroll adding a 69 and Haley Wheelis a 72.

The Hounds took the boys' match with a 118, while Melbourne shot a 123, good for second.

Southside was third at 137.

Izard County ended the day with a team total of 138.

Salem's J.W. Blevins won medalist honors with a 1-under-par 35. Shane Smith carded a 41 for the Greyhounds, with Matt Twilley adding a 42.

Melbourne was led by Spencer Caraway's 39, with Sam Cooper and Keifer Smith finishing with 42 apiece for the Bearkatz.

Izard County's Preston Harmon shot a 37 to pace the Cougars,

Caleb Cowan ended the day with a 49 and Jake Dockins a 52 for the Cougs.
