Mitchell competes in World Championship Show

American Quarter Horse exhibitor Stacie Mitchel of Thayer competed in the Ford American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship Show in Oklahoma City Aug. 1-9. Mitchell was among nearly 2,000 youths, ages 18-and-under, from the United States, Canada and other countries participating in the show. She competed with her American quarter horse, RR Make Your Move, a 7-year-old sorrel gelding in Hunter Under Saddle.

Mitchell is the 14-year-old daughter of John S. Mitchell III and is a freshman at Thayer High School.

The Ford AQHYA World Championship Show is an invitational event that showcases top American Quarter Horse youth exhibitors.

A stake was 33 world championship titles, as well as prizes from American Quarter Horse Association sponsors.

"AQHA Presents" AQHA's weekly television show on RFD-TV will feature competition from the event on its Sept. 10 episode at 1 p.m. and 11 p.m. eastern, with a repeat scheduled for Sept. 13 at 12:30 p.m. eastern.
