OREGON COUNTY -- Taylor Wilcox, 16, of Alton has been missing since Aug. 13.
Stan Smith with the 37th Judicial District Juvenile Office said they are treating the case as a run-away.
Smith said because of the young man's age, not many details could be given.
It was reported he was in foster care at a home in Alton and was to start school Aug. 13. During second hour, school officials realized he wasn't there and called his foster parents who reported him missing to local law enforcement officials, including the Alton Police Department and the Oregon County Sheriff's Department.
Wilcox is about 5-feet-5-inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds.
Smith said an Amber Alert has not been issued in this case. "An Amber Alert is usually issued just after the incident and is usually issued if a possible abduction may be involved. We do not believe this is the case here," he said.
Alton Police Chief Rusty Warren said the investigation into the whereabouts of Wilcox is on-going.
"We have had several reports of sightings of him in the area. Unfortunately, none of them has yet to turn up anything," Warren said.
Anyone with any information regarding Wilcox is asked to call Warren at 417-778-6611.
