Christopher Wayne Sims, 29, of Horseshoe Bend was arrested Aug. 23 by Deputy Jason Jordan on charges of possessing a controlled substance and possessing an instrument of crime. Sims was released the following day from the Izard County Detention Facility after posting bond in the amount of $2,335.

Joshua Aaron Shackleford, 26, of Cherokee Village was arrested Aug. 23 on the charge of driving while intoxicated-drugs. After posting bond the following day in the amount of $1,055, Shackleford was released from the Izard County Detention Facility. Deputy Jason Jordon was the arresting officer.

The night of Aug. 20, Deputy Mark Simino arrested Jeffery Chase Moser, 19, of Melbourne on numerous charges to include driving while intoxicated, obstructing governmental operations, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Moser, who is a probationary felon, was initially placed on a Department of Correction hold by his probation officer, but the hold was later suspended and Moser was released Aug. 22 from the Izard County Detention Facility on bond in the amount of $2,595.

In another alcohol arrest, Deputy Richard Williams arrested Kyle Bradley Taylor, 18, of Melbourne with driving while intoxicated-drugs, reckless driving and fleeing in an automobile. At the time of his arrest, Taylor tested positive for marijuana. Taylor later posted bond in the amount of $2,515 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Nathan Alan Hughes, 42, of Mountain View was arrested Aug. 21 on a seven count warrant for violation of Arkansas hot check law. Hughes remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $2,351 bond.

David Christopher Beck, 33, of Ash Flat was arrested Aug. 22 on a child support enforcement warrant. Beck remains incarcerated in lieu of a $1,820 bond.

Kristina Victoria Shaver, 23, of Melbourne was arrested Aug. 20 on an Independence County hot check warrant. Shaver posted bond and was released.

Johnny Dee Teague Jr., 27, of Henderson, Ky., was arrested Aug. 21 on a Woodruff County misdemeanor warrant. Teague was released to Woodruff County authorities.

Jerry Thomas, 23, of West Memphis was arrested on a bond revocation after appearing in circuit court and acknowledging he had taken illegal drugs while on bond. Thomas will remain incarcerated until his circuit court date.

Following an incident the night of Aug. 24, a Calico Rock man identified as Cory Arthur Welch, 30, was placed into protective custody and will be evaluated for professional care.
