Louis Clifton "Sonny" Glover died Aug. 22, 2008. He was born July 18, 1946, in the small community of Fairview, Lonoke County. He was the son of Marvin "Mugg" and Essie Flynt Glover.
He was a barber for 42 years, serving his customers in Lonoke for 17 years and Highland for 25 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cherokee Village, a member of the Highland Elks Lodge, the Lonoke American Legion and the Lonoke Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by: his wife of 40 years, Nancy Dillon Glover; twin daughters, Dina Glover (Clint) Shackelford of Hardy and Jennifer Glover (Kyle) Lane of Gregory; four grandchildren, Sydney Shackelford of Hardy, Callie Hale, Caroline and Colby Lane of Gregory; one brother, Ray (Vickie) Glover of Carlisle; three sisters, Shirley Glover (Paul) Lewis of East End, Charlotte Glover Kinslow and Dixie Glover Rye and sister-in-law, Martha Glover all of Lonoke; six nephews; and five nieces.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; one brother, Jimmie Glover; and a sister, Rosemary Glover.
Funeral services were held Aug. 24 at the First Baptist Church in Cherokee Village. A private family burial followed in Wattensaw Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Highland.
