Henry Truman Croft, son of the late Ward and Alma (Ford) Croft, died at his home on Aug. 22, 2008, at the age of 80. He was born in Sidney, Ark., in 1927.
He resided in Plato, Mo. He was a retired Union iron worker, working as a journeyman Rodman. He spent much of his early years farming and was a horse enthusiast and well known ferrier.
He is survived by: his wife, Vearl of Plato, Mo.; four sisters, Bernell Cole, Janta Downing and Billie Horn Steele of Sidney, and Kay Goodman of Batesville, Ark.; five children, Linda Miller of Carbondale, Ill., Sue Rasgaitis of Plato, Mo., Renee Minkus of Lebanon, Mo., Benjamin L. Croft of Plato, Mo., Mayo Fix of Kansasville, Wis.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Spellman Croft; an infant sister, Vera Mae Croft; an infant son, James Webster Croft; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Aug. 25 at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Alvin Wiles officiating. Burial followed in the Yeager Cemetery located west of Evening Shade with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Jeff Miller, Benjamin W. Croft, Mickey Croft, Cassie Hildebrand, Quentin Hildebrand and Van Voyles.
