A newspaper carrier reported early morning Aug. 24 that it appeared the front door of Watson's Store in Pineville had been broken into with a large piece of concrete. Deputy Jim Griffin responded until Chief Investigator Charles Melton arrived.
It was determined that deli meats and cigarettes had been taken from the store along with possibly other items. Fingerprints were taken from two packages of cigarettes apparently left on the floor by the burglar and shoe prints on the floor were photographed. The following day, Richard Alford Magouirk, 21, of Pineville was arrested and formal charges of commercial burglary and theft of property, a class "C" felony and a class "A" misdemeanor respectively were finalized.
Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Magouirk remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in circuit court Sept. 9. Magouirk was also charged with failure to appear on previous charges of possessing a controlled substance and obstructing governmental operations. A charge of fleeing is pending. Lawrence said the burglary remains under investigation.
In other sheriff's department activities, Robert Lee Cochran, 36, of Mountain View was arrested Aug. 30 on charges of operating a motor vehicle without insurance, driving on a suspended license and operating a vehicle without license plates. Charges of fleeing and ramming a sheriff's car are pending stemming from an incident near Guion. Cochran remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
Christopher Michael Carter, 23, of Batesville was arrested Aug. 31 on the charge of driving while intoxicated-second offense. Carter posted bond in the amount of $2,805 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Peter Paul Sutterfield Jr., 32, was arrested Aug. 28 on the charge of criminal trespass-land. Sutterfield posted bond Sept. 1 in the amount of $205 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Justin Kellams, 25, of Drasco was arrested Aug. 25 on the charge of failure to appear. Kellams posted bond in the amount of $1,185 the same day and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Barbara Jean Minyard, 31, of Melbourne was arrested Aug. 30 on a violation of Arkansas Hot Check warrant. Minyard posted bond the same day in the amount of $879 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Bryon Dean Rayburn, 38, of Ash Flat was arrested Aug. 29 on a failure to appear warrant. Rayburn remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $1,180 bond.
Christy Lynn Moore, 32, of North Little Rock was booked into the Izard County Detention Facility on Fulton County and Missouri felony warrants. Moore remains incarcerated pending extradition to Missouri.
Debra Ann Carroll, 46, of Mammoth Spring was booked into the Izard County Detention Facility on Fulton County felony charges. Carroll remains incarcerated.
Kimberlie Regina Perry, 42, of Horseshoe Bend was booked into the Izard County Detention Facility on a Horseshoe Bend charge of driving while intoxicated. Perry later posted bond in the amount of $605 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
