Leonard Barney Mazany, 84, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., son of the late Barney J. and Helen (Roszkowski) Mazany, was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Chicago, Ill. He died Aug. 26, 2008, at his home.
Leonard was united in marriage to Jean Lucy Bond on May 17, 1952, at Waukegan, Ill. He spent his working years as a blower engineer for a steel mill. He was a member of the United Methodist Church for 20 years and he served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps during WWII.
He is survived by: his wife, Jean Lucy Mazany of Horseshoe Bend, Ark.; son, Brian Mazany and wife Susan of Chicago, Ill.; daughter, Tina Douglas of Horseshoe Bend; sister, Loretta Mazany of Horseshoe Bend; two grandsons, Alexander Douglas of Horseshoe Bend, and Adam Douglas of Lakeworth, Fla.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his brother, Erwin Mazany; and sister-in-law Ruth Mazany.
Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Barker's Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel in Horseshoe Bend.
