Junior Rebs shutout

Thursday, September 11, 2008

At the pre-season jamboree, the Highland junior Rebels did a great job of shutting down the Mountain View and Yellville-Summit offenses, and they only gave up a few big plays to Salem.

However, that defense was nowhere to be found against Sebastian Irvin and the Hoxie offense, as the junior Mustangs blew past Highland 22-0 on Sept. 2 at Hoxie.

Irvin scored on runs of eight, 22 and 48 yards in the game.

Highland gained just four total yards in the first half against the junior Mustang defense.

Junior Rebel running back Sterling Stowers gained 32 yards on 11 carries.

Garrett Sublett threw a pass to Ben Markway for five yards.

The junior Rebs will travel to Harrisburg on Sept. 11.

The junior Hornets lost to Riverview 22-0 on Sept. 4.
