School board elections near

Only two contested races have developed in Sharp County for school board positions to be decided Sept. 16.

In Cave City District 2-A, Randy Hodges and Wendell Saffell have both filed for Position 2 on the Cave City school board. Incumbent Donald Simmons is running unopposed for Position 5, a five year term.

In Highland District 42, Randy McComas of Hardy and Matt Williams of Cherokee Village have both filed for Position 6 on the Highland School Board. This is a four year term. Incumbent Donna Shaw Position 7, a four year term.

In the Williford School District, all positions are uncontested. Filing for school board are; Zone 1, Robert Wollschlager; Zone 2, no candidates; Zone 3, Kenn W. Lad (Lad is a write-in candidate); Zone 4, Charles Tyler; Zone 5, no candidates; Zone 6, James Ingram Jr., (also a write-in candidate); Zone 7, no candidates.

Elections will be held Sept. 16 with early voting starting Sept. 9.
