School board elections near

Thursday, September 11, 2008

It's time for school elections again in Fulton and Izard county schools. Only two districts will have contested races or a millage increase to decide.

Salem School District board members are all running unopposed.

In Viola, two people have filed for Position 3 on the school board. Max Ray Shrable will oppose Jenni Luther.

Mammoth Spring School District voters will decide on a millage increase along with one board position. Shelia Young and Clint Collins are running for John Walsh's position on the board. The millage increase, if approved, will raise the mills from 25 to 30 in the district.

Izard County Consolidated board members are running unopposed.

In Melbourne, Phillip Edwards is running unopposed for the board.

School elections are scheduled for Sept. 16.
