OREGON COUNTY -- A two-vehicle accident south of Thayer, Sept. 12 injured three area people, one of them seriously.
According to a report from Trooper Ray Rees with Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 9:25 a.m., five miles west of Thayer on Highway 142 West.
Rees said a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Sandra D. Buchanan, 60, of Thayer pulled into the path of a 2003 Ford F-150 truck driven by Carol A. McClung, 18, of Mammoth Spring.
Buchanan received moderate injuries in the accident and was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) in West Plains.
McClung received serious injuries and was taken by helicopter to St. John's Hospital in Springfield. A passenger in the McClung vehicle, Danny L. Young, 19, of Thayer received minor injuries and was also taken to OMC by ambulance.
Rees reported that both McClung and Young were wearing seat belts but Buchanan was not. He said charges may be pending in the accident.
