MAMMOTH SPRING -- The Mammoth Spring City Council had a short monthly meeting Sept. 8.
Mayor Jean Pace gave the council members an update on grants. She said the White River Solid Waste District has given the city a grant to pay for 75 percent of a new chainsaw.
The city has also received a grant from the USDA for $75,000 and another grant from Rural Development for $30,000 to go toward the purchase of a new fire truck for the city.
The council voted to purchase a new clorinator for the city well. The old one only had one side working and had to be replaced. They also voted to purchase a leak detector to help better find water leaks in the city.
The city will be taking bids on a used bush hog. It can be seen at the city lot between Fourth and Fifth Streets during the week. Bids on the bush hog need to be turned into city hall by noon, Oct. 3.
