Gas prices have forced another business to raise prices.
Spring River Ambulance Service (SRAS) has announced a new fee they will be charging. If SRAS responds to a call that does not result in transport of a patient there will be a fee assessed. The fee will range from $25 to $50 depending upon the services the responders provide while on the scene.
The announcement stated that Spring River Ambulance Service Total Care Members will not be subject to the new charges. Another exception to the charge will be 9-1-1 calls made by a third party without the knowledge of the patient.
SRAS stated the reason for the change in policy, is rising gas prices. The company explained, even when no transport takes place during a call, when one ambulance is on a call another has to drive to the area so it is covered.
