Izard County Sheriff's Report

A traffic stop during the late night hours of Sept. 17 resulted in the driver's arrest on drug related charges. Thomas Michael Hayes, 21, of Oxford was found to have in his possession two small bags of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and a smoking device. Hayes was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of an instrument of crime. Hayes posted bond the following morning in the amount of $2,335 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

In another drug related arrest, Crystal Gail Merriman, 20, of Calico Rock was charged with possession of an instrument of crime. Merriman remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of bond.

Public intoxication charges were brought against a Melbourne man during the early morning hours of Sept. 17. Michael "Matt" Rush was jailed on the charge. He later posted a bond in the amount of $205, and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Bobby Ray Eddy, 41, of Melbourne was arrested Sept. 19 on a Missouri felony hot check warrant. Bond provisions were made with Missouri authorities and Eddy was released later in the day from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Two Izard County males were arrested for failure to pay child support. Arrested Sept. 16 was Brad Allen Edmonton, 36, of Pineville. Edmonton made provision for bond and was released Sept. 18 from the Izard County Detention Facility. Scottie Gene Sanders, 22, of Dolph was arrested Sept. 18 and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $6,500 bond.

Michael Leland Meaders, 23, of Batesville was arrested Sept. 15 on a contempt of court warrant. Meaders posted bond later in the day in the amount of $320 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

John Wilkerson, 44, who stated that he was homeless but had previously lived near Sidney, was arrested Sept. 17 on a failure to appear warrant from an earlier charge of public intoxication. Wilkerson remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $325 bond.

Lynn Eugene Young, 45, of Calico Rock was arrested Sept. 16 on a failure to appear warrant. Young remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of bond and a hold from the Arkansas Department of Correction.

Barbara Jean Minyard, 31, of Melbourne was arrested Sept. 19 on a hot check warrant. Minyard posted bond the same day in the amount of $2,565 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Brandon Wayne Williams, 20, of Warsaw, Mo., was arrested Sept. 19 on a violation of Arkansas hot check law warrant. Williams remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $1,000 bond.

Another hot check warrant resulted in the Sept. 20 arrest of James Bryan Fry, 35, of Bradford. Fry posted bond in the amount of $655 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Heather Nicole Wevley, 25, of Horseshoe Bend was jailed Sept. 17 by Horseshoe Bend authorities on a hot check warrant. Wevley posted bond later in the day in the amount of $955 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Matthew Aaron Simmons, 28, of Oxford was arrested Sept. 20 on a Sharp County child support warrant. Simmons was later transferred to the Sharp County Jail.

Heaven Shattuck, 26, of Russellville was arrested Sept. 16 on a failure to pay fines warrant. Heaven posted bond in the amount of $285 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Cory Arthur Welch, 30, of Calico Rock was placed into the Izard County Detention Facility for a mental evaluation where remains pending a commitment for professional services.

Gloria Jean Williams, 45, of Quail Run Apartments was sentenced by the Izard County District Courts to six months in jail. Charges against Williams included multiple alcohol related offenses, multiple disorderly conduct offenses, and numerous other offenses.
