Lucy Novella Morgan was born the daughter of Jeff Hall and Mattie Goins Hall on Sept. 29, 1919, in Elm Store, Ark., and died Sept. 12, 2008, at her home in Myrtle, Mo., at the age of 88.
She was united in marriage on Oct. 15, 1938, in Dalton, Ark., to Daniel "Sprout" H. Morgan, who preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1982.
Lucy was a farm wife cooking many meals for thrashing and hay crews and being with her friends at the Myrtle Senior Citizens Center.
Lucy was member of the Myrtle Free Will Baptist Church for 60 years.
She is survived by: four sons, Don Morgan and wife, Carol of Indianapolis, Ind., Richard Morgan and wife, Pam of Myrtle, Leslie "Doc" Morgan of Myrtle, Mo., and Eddie Morgan of Smithton, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, Michael Morgan and wife, Lola, Steven Morgan, Stephanie Morgan, Timmy Morgan, Brent Morgan and wife, Donella, Dennis Morgan, Debra Martin and husband Kirk, Jessica Gregory and husband Jason, Victoria Morgan and Jonathan Harris; 10 great-grandchildren; five great-great- grandchildren; one sister, Nettie Bennett of Thayer, Mo.; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; one son, Edward Dewey Morgan; nine sisters, Mary Risner, Martha Crawford, Oma Risner, Rutha Davis, Dora England, Amy England, Cora Reynolds, Ruby Stubblefield and Amy Stubblefield; eight brothers, Wesley, Johnny, Joe, George and Andrew Hall, Albert, Alfred and Ratha Brewer.
Funeral services were held Sept. 15 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo. Burial was in the Myrtle Cemetery at Myrtle, with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
