Thursday, September 25, 2008

Don McSpadden, Prosecuting Attorney of the 16 Judicial District of the state of Arkansas filed charges Sept. 10 against Jeffery L. Mohlke, 28, of Salem, for five counts of rape and one count of 2nd degree sexual assault. Mohlke was arrested Sept. 16.

According to a request for a warrant of arrest written by Arkansas State Police Special Agent Jeff Stone, Crimes Against Children Division (CACD) Investigator Jannette Cooper interviewed two alleged victims of sexual crimes Aug. 8.

One alleged victim, a 9-year-old, claimed, Mohlke sexually assaulted her. The other alleged victim, a 10-year-old, said Mohlke raped her on several occasions.

When Stone interviewed Mohlke's father, Leroy Mohlke, he said his son admitted to him that he had molested the children. Jeffery Mohlke refused to submit to an interview.

Mohlke's bond was set at $100,000. He was transferred to the Izard County Jail where he posted bond.
