2008 Thayer Homecoming Candidates ... Activities set

THAYER -- Homecoming activities will be held in Thayer Oct. 3 and 4.

The Thayer Homecoming Parade will be at 2 p.m. on Chestnut Street. Parade organizer Rhonda Simpson said the parade line-up will be at 1:30 p.m. All ninth through 12th grade floats and the homecoming candidates and attendants will line-up between Chapel Hill Florist and the end of Chestnut Street.

She said anyone with questions regarding the line-up can call her at the high school.

There will be a pep rally immediately following the parade.

The Thayer Alumni association is asking anyone who wants to tailgate before the ball game to do so. At 5 p.m. the Bobcat Booster Club will be selling Bobcat plates for $5 which will include a hamburger, baked beans and chips.

The crowning of the 2008 homecoming queen will be at 6 p.m. that evening. Queen candidates are Shyla Bivens, Bailey Spencer and Jade Underwood. The football game will start at 7 p.m. The Bobcats will be taking on the Willow Springs Bears.

Immediately following the game there will be an alumni reception held in the elementary cafeteria which is open to all alumni. The annual dinner will be held on Saturday evening Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. and the meal will be provided. All alumni are encouraged to attend. Alumni dues are $10 and may be paid at the game, the reception or the dinner.
