Coy Richey, 85, of Black Rock, Ark., died Sept. 25, 2008, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. He was born on Nov. 20, 1922, in Eaton the son of the late Elmer H. and Alice Tretenburg Richey.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Smith on Dec. 8, 1947. He was a self-employed dairy farmer and a member of the Church of Christ of Eaton.
He is survived by: his wife, Shirley Richey of Black Rock; two sons, Steve Richey of Cherokee Village and Coy Lavon Richey of Forrest City; two sisters, Opal Murphy of Marysville, Calif., and Hazel Hubbard of Walnut Ridge, Ark.; two brothers, J.W. Richey and Lloyd Richey both of Eaton; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and two brothers, O.D. Richey and J. D. Richey.
Funeral services were held Sept. 28 at the Higginbotham Chapel in Walnut Ridge with Bro. Harold Russell officiating. Burial followed in the Lebanon Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Higginbotham Funeral Services of Walnut Ridge.
