Freeda Marie Fabares, 74, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., daughter of the late Lemmie Jackson and Burla Lois (Wyatt) Sterman, was born on Nov. 21, 1933, in Arlington, Ky. She died Sept. 24, 2008, at the Community Medical Center in Calico Rock, Ark.
Freeda was united in marriage to Clyde Bernard Fabares on Dec. 27, 1973. She spent her working years as a homemaker and she was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by: a husband, Clyde Fabares of Horseshoe Bend; son, Dallas Stermon of Sioux Falls, S.D.; daughter, Loretta Witt of Sioux Falls; a grandson, Curtis Riggs of Sioux Falls; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
A memorial service was held at the Barker Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel Sept. 29 with Father Preske officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Barker Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
Memorials are preferred to St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bend.
