The Izard County Lady Cougars finished third at the Class 2A State Golf Tournament Sept. 30 at Belvedere Country Club in Hot Springs, while Salem came in fourth and Melbourne finished ninth in the team standings.
Last year's state champions, the Shirley Lady Blue Devils, came in second, with Katie Webb carding an 84 for medalist honors for Shirley.
Top spot in the state tourney went to Conway St. Joseph with a team score of 281.
Third-place Izard County shot a 333, while Salem finished with a 341.
Melbourne's Maggie Cooper finished fourth in the individual scoring with a 96.
Izard County's Rachel Harmon (99) and classmate Kiley Mettler (100) finished seventh and eighth, respectively, earning All-State honors, along with Cooper.
Sierra Riley (134) completed Izard County's team score.
Stephanie McCullough shot a 111 for the Lady Greyhounds of Salem, good for 16th place. Annie Smith and Laci Long carded a 115 apiece for the Lady Hounds.
Mammoth Spring's Kaitlyn Haney ended the day with a 122.
Emily Carroll shot a 144 for Melbourne, while Haley Wheelis added a 141 for the Lady Bearkatz.
