Myrtle Virginia Collins was born the daughter of William Richard Housdan and Liza Brown Housdan on November 23, 1922, in Walnut Ridge, Ark., and died Oct. 3, 2008, in Mammoth Spring, Ark., at the age of 85.
She was united in marriage in 1945, at St. Louis, Mo., to Stanley Lee, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage in 1971, at St. Louis, Mo. to Ritchie Collins, who preceded her in death Aug. 18, 2007.
She was employed by Stix Baer and Fuller as sales manager of the shoe department for 16 years.
She worked at the Ammunition Plant in St. Louis duringWorld War II.
She is survived by: eight children, Marvin C. Lee of Union, Mo., Caig E. Lee of San Diego, Calif., Sanley Lee Jr. of Arnold, Mo., Ritchie Collins of Iraq, Bonnie Gildersleeve and husband, Bill of Mammoth Spring, Ark., Randy Collins and wife, Jaci of Cordland, Mo., Charmagne Kiser of St. Louis, Mo., and Spencer Lee; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husbands; one son, Sterling Lee; one grandson, William Oliver Gildersleeve; two brothers, Vance Housdan and Brance Housdan; and two sisters, Vera Noblin and Opal Ann Anderson.
Funeral services were held Oct. 7 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer. Burial followed in the Rriverside Cemetery at Mammoth Spring, Ark., with arrangements under the direciton of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
