Doris E. Brown of Peoria, Ariz., formerly of Hollister, Mo., was born June 26, 1917, in Jobe, Mo., the daughter of the late William and Grace (Jenkins) Clark. She died Sept. 25, 2008, in Peoria.
She was married to George Brown Oct. 27, 1938, in Thayer, Mo.
She worked as a clerk in the Brown Hardware and Electric Store that she and her husband owned in Myrtle, Mo.
She is survived by: her children, R. Morris Brown, Green Valley, Ariz., and his friend, Julie Shafer, Tucson, Ariz., Francella Springer and husband, John, Glendale, Ariz., four grandchildren, Grant Brown, Tucson, Jarred Brown, Denver, Colo., Karen Herskowitz and husband, Alex, Lexington, Va., and Rebecca Springer and friend, Brad Hazelton, Gilbert, Airz.; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Geneva Sorrell and husband, David, of Myrtle; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Clark and Jerry Clark, both of Springfield, Mo., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, George Brown; six brothers, Robert, Champ, Worth, Morris, Sherman and Russell, and one sister, Mildred.
Funeral services for Doris E. Brownwere held Oct. 2, 2008, in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, Branson, Mo. Burial followed in Oark Memorial Park Cemetery in Branson. Arrangements were under the direction of the Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home of Branson, Mo.
