Boyer is a 1996 graduate of Hartville High School.
He did his undergraduate work at MSU and received his master's in education and administration from Williams Wood University. Boyer is working on his last year of course work for his doctorate from Missouri State University.
Boyer is married. His wife is Somer and they have two young sons, Andrew, 3, and Ian, 1.
He taught high school science and physics at Hartville High School for six years. Boyer also served as superintendent at Success School in Texas County for two-years. "This was a kindergarten through eighth grade school. The Koshkonong School District is a little bit smaller than Hartville and a little bit larger than Success," Boyer said.
The new superintendent would like to see continued improvements in the school district in math and communication arts. "We have now gone to what is called a Junior High Model, where students in the fifth through eighth grade now switch teachers and classes," he said.
"I feel like it's a privilege to work for the Koshkonong School District. I love education and I love kids. My goal at Koshkonong is to operate the district with openness and genuine concern for the students of the Koshkonong School District," he said.
