Beatrice Marie Lassiter, 85, of Walnut Ridge, Ark., died Oct. 5, 2008, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark. She was born Dec. 21, 1922, in Lawrence County, the daughter of the late Grear and Clara Simpson Abbott.
She was a homemaker and a member of Charity Apostolic Tabernacle Church of Hoxie. She was united in marriage in August of 1943, in Randolph County to Sam Lassiter who preceded her in death on June 11, 1991.
Survivors include: two sons, Charles Lassiter of Jonesboro, Sam and daughter-in-law, Shelly Lassiter of Alicia; three daughters, Jean and son-in-law, Albert Krantz of Swifton, Joan and son-in-law, Tom Hunnicutt of Williford, and Janie Lassiter of Williford; Charles Chriswell of Shelby, N.C.; two sisters-in-law, Sally Lassiter and Mary Abbott; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers; two sisters; one daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Lassiter; and Roy Chriswell.
Services were held Oct. 1 at Higginbotham Chapel in Walnut Ridge with Rev. Darrell Douglas officiating. Burial followed at Lawrence Memorial Park.
Arrangements were under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Services of Walnut Ridge.
