Harold Hirsch and Bob Murphy, of the Soil Conservation Service, asked the court to approve a budget of $5,000 for their use. The request was made during the October meeting of the Sharp County Quorum Court. The money will be used for matching grants in 2009.
In other business Judge Larry Brown appointed a 2009 budget committee. Appointed to the committee were chairmen, Darrell Kehrli, Greg Prenger, Dennis Burton, Bartus Allen and Roger Stark. The committee will hold their first meeting Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. in the courtroom at the Sharp County Courthouse.
The court discussed the revenue from the one-cent sales tax is above average at $35,632 more than last year. Judge Brown said turnback funds are expected to come up $18,000 short this year.
