Lucille Murphy Preston, 93, of Ash Flat, Ark., formerly of Pine Bluff, Ark., died Oct. 21, 2008.
She was born Oct. 9, 1915, at Ash Flat, a daughter of the late Oscar Murphy and Maude Ritchie Murphy.
Lucille was a homemaker and a member of the Sixth Avenue Church of Christ.
She is survived by: her husband of almost 75 years, Carl Franklin (C.F.) Preston, Sr., whom she married Nov. 18, 1933, at Salem, Ark.; a daughter, Rosemary Gross of Pine Bluff; three sons, Carl F. Preston, Jr. (Sandy) of Monticello, Louis Preston (Myra) of Cherokee Village and Scott Preston (Karen) of White Hall; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other friends and family.
She was preceded in death by: 14 siblings, Maxine Bowden, Carl D. Murphy, Mildred Hastings, Harold Murphy, Norma Murphy, Hayden Murphy, Virgil Murphy, Mattie Brawley, Stella McJunkins, Raymond Murphy, Paul Murphy, Clevel Hughes, Melvil Murphy and Johnny Murphy; and a son-in-law, Ralph Gross.
Funeral services were held Oct. 23 at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel with Brother Edgar Dye officiating. Burial followed in White Hall United Methodist Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Gross, Jeff Gross, Preston Gross, Kyle Preston, Darren Preston, Curt Preston, Scott Preston, Jr., Clayton Preston, Bryan Sizemore and Kyle Kalkbrenner.
