Goldie Weaver, 91, of Salem, Ark., daughter of the late Andrew and Laura (Norris) Stroud, was born on Sept. 19, 1917, in Fulton County Arkansas. She died Oct. 20, 2008, in Salem, Ark.
Goldie was united in marriage to James Robert Weaver on Dec. 28, 1938, at Salem.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Living Word Tabernacle Church at Glencoe, Ark.
She is survived by: a daughter, Mary Jo Pate of Salem; two granddaughters, Tina Crenshaw of Salem and Shanna Maguffee (Bob) of Mammoth Spring; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; five step-grandchildren; 10 step-great- grandchildren; four step-great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Imogene Crawford (Don) of Salem and Willa Faye Mills (Noel) of Mammoth Spring; two sisters-in-law, Rebecca Stroud of Mountain Home and Edith Stroud of Lake Jackson, Texas; one brother-in-law, Everett Evans (Ruby) of Salem; 18 nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; great-grandson James Davis; 3 brothers; four sisters, Gertie Stroud, Grace Evans, Alice Pendergrass and Marie Stroud; one brother-in-law, Johnny Pendergrass; and two nieces.
Funeral services were held Oct. 22 at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, with Bro. Bill Barnett and Bro. John Hodges officiating.
Interment followed in the Agnos Cemetery at Agnos, Ark., with arrangements under the direction of the Barker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Tyler Wheeler, Jim Mills, Kevin Pendergrass, Kenny Crawford, Heath Everett and Roger Stroud.
Memorials preferred to a charity of choice.
