Franklin Craig was born the son of Gilbert H. Craig and Mary Frances Chandler Craig on Jan. 23, 1934, in Scottsboro, Ala., and died Nov. 2, 2008, at his home in Myrtle, Mo., at the age of 74.
He was united in marriage July 11, 1977, at Rockford, Ill., to Ann Risley.
He was an industrial plater, working for Park Plating Company in Loves Park, Ill., for 21 years. He was of the Free Will Baptist faith.
He is survived by: his wife, Ann of the home in Myrtle; three children, Kris Johnson and husband, Lee of Lake Havasu, Ariz., Franklin Michael Craig and wife, Tina Ann of Alton, Mo., and Sherry Goetting of Myrtle; eight grandchildren, Jessica Johnson and Nicole Johnson, Rebecca See, Preston Morgan, Luke Craig, Colten Goetting, Cody Goetting and Cameron Goetting; three sisters, Juanita McClure of Rockford, Ill., Louise Sullivan of Rockford, Ill., and Shirley Ruminer of Doniphan, Mo.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; one daughter, Teresa May Craig; one son, Herbert Craig; one brother, Hobert "Pee Wee" Craig; and on sister, Della May.
Funeral services were held Nov. 6 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer, with Rev. Ralph Douglas officiating. Burial followed in Cotton Creek Cemetery near Myrtle, Mo., with arrangements by Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
