Vinita O. Sears, of Salem, Ark., daughter of the late James Preston Moore and Mary Lou Gaither Moore, was born Feb. 26, 1919, in Byron, Ark. She died Nov. 3, 2008, at Southfork River Therapy and Living Center in Salem, Ark., at the age of 89.
She was united in marriage to Lanis Sears on March 14, 1942, in Byron, Ark. Together they owned and operated the Town and Country grocery store in Salem for many years.
She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: one sister, Zelabe Montgomery of Kansas City, Mo.; nieces; nephews; and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband in 2005; her brothers, Oakley and Arkie Moore; her sister, Opal Dillinger; and her father and mother.
Funeral services were held Nov. 5 at the Salem United Methodist Church with burial following in the Salem Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
