Loretta Ida Dawson, 82, of Peculiar, Mo., died Nov. 24, 2008, at The Rehabilitation Center of Raymore in Raymore, Mo.
Loretta was born Dec. 26, 1925, in Salem, Ark., the daughter of Robert and Roxie (Rosier) Foster.
She married Norman Dawson on Dec. 1, 1945, in Salem. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Peculiar, a homemaker and she had previously worked at Montgomery Ward.
She is survived by: her husband, Norman Dawson, of the home; one son, Duane Dawson of Stillwell, Kan.; one daughter, Sheila Hunt, of Raymore, Mo.; two brothers, David Foster of Hardy, Ark., and James Foster, of Belton, Mo.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were held Nov. 26 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, officiated by Rev. John Roeder of United Methodist Church in Peculiar, Mo., and Rev. Jim Vest, of South Haven Baptist Church in Belton, Mo.
Burial followed in Peculiar Cemetery in Peculiar.
Pallbearers were Dan Jonas, Ryan Dawson, Ron Hunt, Bob Bozeman, Dick Harris and Jimmie Vannordstrand.
