Bears cruise by Marshall Bobcats

The Mammoth Spring Bears jumped in front 14-5 after the first period of play and cruised to a 62-42 rout of the Marshall Bobcats Dec. 2 in Mountain Home.

Seth Godwin paced Mammoth Spring (9-3) with a game-high 27 points. He also racked up six steals and handed out four assists. Trevor Vincent added 15 points for the Bears.

The junior Bears topped the visiting Mountain Home junior Bombers 43-31 Dec. 4 behind 20 points, eight rebounds, three steals and three assists from Wooldridge.

Coffey added 10 points and Cooper handed out six assists.

Mammoth Spring led 11-5 after one and 27-15 at the half.

The junior Bears posted a 50-25, 1A-2 North victory over Calico Rock Dec. 1.

Mammoth Spring pushed in front 27-5 to start the game on a strong note.

Wooldridge led the junior Bears with 15 points. Cooper followed with 14 points, six assists and three steals. Jordan Combs pulled down eight boards for Mammoth Spring.

The Lady Bears came home from Panther Pavilion in Norfork with a 55-36 1A-2 North victory over the Lady Panthers Dec. 5, fueled by a 21-point outburst from Bianca Paige.

The game was tied at 4-all early, but the Lady Bears peeled off a 12-zip run to move ahead and maintain control of the contest.

Mammoth Spring led 29-17 at intermission and 44-29 after three.

Jessy Jo Vest tallied 15 points for the Lady Bears, while Shelby Frey logged nine. Amy Young had six, Sierra Smoot three and Brittany Bearden one.

In senior boys' action, the Panthers took control of first place in the conference with a 64-46 win over the Bears.

The Panthers ended the game on a big 20-7 run to seal the deal.

Godwin logged 14 points for Mammoth Spring, while Vincent had 13 and Wes Davis 11.

Colton Goetting tallied five points and Jon Marler finished with three.

The junior Bears ran their record to a perfect 14-0, 6-0 in conference play, with a 42-22 rout of the junior Panthers.

Wooldridge posted 17 points and seven rebounds, while Matt Turnbough had nine points for the junior Bears.
