A twenty eight year old Franklin man was arrested Saturday night on numerous charges to include possession of a controlled substance, possession of an instrument of crime, driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a minor. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Steven Darwin Parker, 28, posted bond the following day in the amount of $3,995 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
In another drug related arrest, Dale Eugene Hughes, 47, of Calico Rock was arrested Friday night on charges of possession of controlled substance and public intoxication. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Senior Deputy J.T. Baker was dispatched to Harp's parking lot in Calico Rock on a call advising that a non-responsive male was at that location. Hughes was in his car and was awakened after several attempts. As Hughes exited his vehicle a small white object, identified as burnt marijuana cigarette, fell to the ground and there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Hughes was released from the Izard County Detention Facility the following day after posting bond in the amount of $1,435.
Following a pedestrian/vehicle accident, a Melbourne man was arrested Thursday night for public intoxication. Paul Rodgers, 47, was on the state Highway 9 near the Pizza Inn restaurant and claimed to have been hit by a vehicle. Sheriff Lawrence said that Rogers was transported to a nearby hospital where he was examined and released. The driver of the vehicle was not charged. Rodgers posted bond the following day in the amount of $205 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Steven Noble McCormack, 18, of Salem was arrested Nov. 29 on the charge of public intoxication. McCormack was released the following day after posting bond in the amount of $205.
Stephen Mason Cagle Jr., 26, of Melbourne was arrested Wednesday on the charge of driving on a suspended license. Cagle was released from the Izard County Detention Facility the following day after posting a $1,105 bond.
Joseph Edward Brown, 18, of Melbourne was arrested Friday night on the charge of shoplifting. Brown is accused of stealing toiletry items from Fred's in Melbourne. Brown was released Sunday from the Izard County Detention Facility and given a Feb. 5 court date.
Dennis Edward Tucker Sr., 55, of Laredo, Texas, was arrested there on an Izard County child support warrant and was transported to the Izard County Detention Facility by Transport Deputy Y.D. Whitehurst. Tucker remains incarcerated in lieu of bond.
William Dale Crock, 46, of Cave City was arrested Thursday on a violation of Arkansas Hot Check Law warrant. Crock posted bond in the amount of $280 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Scottie Gene Sanders, 22, of Dolph was arrested Sunday on a failure to pay fines warrant. Sanders remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $1,725 cash bond.
Freddie Eugene Meredith, 35, of Melbourne was arrested Thursday on a Sharp County warrant and was later transported to the Sharp County Jail.
