Tamara Ann "Tammy" McComas, 51, of Saddle, Ark., died Dec. 14, 2008, at the Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Mo. She was born Nov. 4, 1957, in Leachville, Ark., the daughter of John L. Goodwin and Lena Vea (Taylor) Goodwin.
She was united in marriage to Mark D. McComas on June 24, 1974, in Hardy, Ark. She moved with her family to Batesville in 1989. She worked for the First United Methodist Church in Batesville for several years before moving to Saddle in 1998. She attended the Shekinah Tabernacle at Wirth, Ark., where she taught the little children's Sunday school class.
She is survived by: her husband Mark D. McComas of the home; one son and his wife, Randy and Michal McComas of Highland; two daughters, Katrina and Joseph Friel of Saddle and Melissa Scoggins of Commerce, Ga.; her mother, Lena Vea Goodwin of Ash Flat; two sisters, Jonny and David Charles of Green Bay, Wis., and Dana Moser of Melbourne; three brothers, Marty and Teresa Goodwin of Ash Flat, Brook and Jill Goodwin of Bristol, Wis., and Tracy and Nittie Goodwin of Russellville; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Margaret and Robert E. McComas of Ash Flat; four grandchildren, Noah Anthony McComas, Hunter Jeremiah Friel, Kiersten Myra Friel, and Emma Brooke Scoggins; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, John L. Goodwin.
Funeral services were held Dec. 18 at the Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland, Ark., with burial following in the Eagle's Rest Cemetery near Wirth, Ark. Arrangements were made under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home of Hardy, Ark.
Pallbearers were Joseph Friel, David King, Mart Goodwin, Brook Goodwin, Tracy Goodwin and Marty Howington.
Honorary pallbearers were Noah McComas, Hunter Friel, Kiersten Friel, Emma Scoggins and Billy Martin.
