Kenneth Amiel Cooper, of Salem, Ark., son of the late Amiel Cooper and Annie Linderman Cooper was born Aug. 25, 1931, in Viola, Ark. He died Dec. 25, 2008, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home at the age of 77.
He was united in marriage to Phyllis Moss on Jan. 31, 1957, in Jonesboro, Ark. To this union four children were born.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a U.S. postal worker and he also drove a school bus in Kansas City for many years. He was a member of the Salem VFW and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis of the family home; his children, Kendra Bealmear of Kansas City, Mo., Kevin Cooper and wife Susan of Boulder, Colo., Barry Cooper and wife Lisa of Pleasant Valley, Mo., and Keith Cooper and wife Suzanne of Gladstone, Mo.; grandchildren, Shawn Cooper, Tucker Bealmear, Alysia Cooper, Sarah Cooper, Kourtney Cooper, Tommy Bealmear, Wyatt Cooper and Krista Cooper; his sister, Dora Hall of Springfield, Mo.; brothers, Gary Cooper of Salem, Elwyn Cooper of Kansas City; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and brothers, Ray, Clay, Carl and Charles Cooper.
Funeral services were held Dec. 29 at the Cox-Blevins Chapel in Salem with burial following in Gum Springs Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
