Jake Roath, 63, of Batesville, Ark., died Dec. 25, 2008, at his home. He was born May 12, 1945, at Neveda, Mo., the son of Jake and Bertie Mae Roath.
He was a United States Marine veteran having served during the Vietnam war.
He worked several years in the lumber business and was a salesman for Tri-County Electric in Desha.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Joseph Michael Roath.
Survivors include: his wife, Patsy Roath of the home; two sons, Heath Roath of Port Allen, La., and Brian Yeager of Batesville; one daughter, Heather Johnson of Louisiana; one sister, Yvonne Satterwhite and husband, Randy of Southside; six grandchildren, Garrett Yeager, Bethanie Sharp and Reagen Yeager all of Batesville, Braxton Yeager of Newark, Austin Payne and Evan Johnson both of Louisiana; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Dec. 29 at the Alderbrook Cemetery located at Desha with Bro. David Insell officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
Pallbearers were Terry Hipp, Ken Todd, Tim Johnson, Gary Hardin, Lenny Rush, Darin Dodrill, Andy Yeager and Larry Buhler.
Honorary pallbearers were: all employees, directors and board members of Citizen's Bank, employees of First Southern Bank, employees of Fall Creek Inn in Branson, Mo., Dr. J.R. Baker, Dr. Todd Rumins, Dr. Scott Stern, Dr. Fredrick R. Bentley and staff of UAMS and Dr. John Allgood.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Jake may be made to Believers' Community Church, 3645 N. St. Louis, Batesville, Ark.
