Robert Porter Romine, 82, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Dec. 31, 2008, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark. He was born June 12, 1926, in Alabama, the son of the late Porter Romine and Rena (Ezell) Romine.
Robert was a member of the Masonic Lodge and also sang in the Barber Shop Quartet. He was a master plumber and a licensed hearing aid specialist. He moved to Arkansas in 1944.
He is survived by: his son, Robert (Randy) Romine and daughter-in-law, Paula Romine; brothers, Dick and Nancy Romine and Wayne and Annette Romine; sisters, Helen Trosdale, Joann and Bruce Howell; a special friend, Roberta Rose; a granddaughter, Heather Romine and husband Dr. Mo Sathyamoorthy; one great-grand- son; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents and two sisters, Dorothy Louise and Alma Sue.
Funeral services were held Jan. 3, 2009, at the Farmers Union Funeral Home in Weiner, Ark., with Minister Robert Griffin officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Farmers Union Funeral Home of Weiner. Local arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County Funeral Homes of Hardy.
