Jessie P. Crider, 76, of Melbourne, Ark., died Dec. 22, 2008 in Calico Rock, Ark. He was born Oct. 27, 1932, to James and Nellie Crider of Arkansas Pass, Texas.
He was married to Sharon Harmon Aug. 6, 1956, in Sequin, Texas. To this union seven children were born.
During his working years, he was a contractor, roofer and mechanic. He was a member of Violet Hill Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by: his wife, Sharon Crider of the home; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Bonnie Crider of Oxford, J.D. and Jequita Crider of Oxford and Charles Crider of Melbourne, Kenneth Crider of Daphne, Ala.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheryl and Jimmy Burris of Brockwell, Carolyn and Lislie Buck of Ingram, Texas; three brothers, Walter Crider of Kerrville, Texas, Morris Crider of Kerrville and Reuben Crider of Oxford; three sisters, Ann Morris of Kerrville, Texas, Hazel Sewell of San Saba, Texas, and Mary Morris of Melbourne; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; one daughter, Teresa Moore; two granddaughters, Jimmie Michelle Crider and Misty Dianne Van Ostrand; one sister, Annie Mae Hall; two brothers, Claude Crider and Thad Crider.
Funeral services were held Dec. 29 at the Violet Hill Assembly of God Church with Leon Morehead officiating. Burial followed at Owens Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
