Mammoth Spring's run through the North Arkansas College Senior Boys' Basketball Tournament ended with a tough 36-32 loss to the Norfork Panthers Jan. 5 at Pioneer Pavilion in Harrison.
Norfork led 5-3 after a low-scoring first period that saw both squads struggle to find a rhythm.
The Panthers clawed off six straight points late in the second period to take a 20-13 lead to the halftime break. Mammoth Spring managed to keep close in the third period, giving the Bears a chance late.
And with Norfork leading 34-30, Caleb Brown got free for a shot that fell, pulling Mammoth Spring within two, down 34-32.
However, that was as close as the Bears could get, as Norfork's Ethan Barnes hit a pair of free throws to give the Panthers a four-point victory.
Seth Godwin tallied 11 points and three assists for the Bears, while Brown posted 11 points and nine rebounds.
Trevor Vincent added five points, Colton Goetting had three and Wes Davis two for Mammoth Spring.
