Roland Gene Ward

Roland Gene Ward, 71, of Hardy, Ark., died Jan. 15, 2009, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark. He was born Jan. 2, 1938, in Astoria, Ill., the son of the late Marshal Ward and Elnora Hamm.

He moved to Arkansas in 1985. He was an artist and a wood carver.

He is survived by: his wife, Joyce Ann Ward; his sons, Lonny W. Ward and Terry J. Ward; a daughter, Rona J. Ward; and brothers, Richard Ward and Wendell Ward.

He was preceded in death by John Ozee Ward.

Funeral services were held Jan. 18 at the graveside at the Baker Cemetery with funeral arrangements under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland, Ark.
