Eric Emil Schlender, 42, of Hardy, Ark., died Jan. 14, 2009, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark. He was born Sept. 5, 1966, in St. Joseph, Mich., son of Erich Schlender and Brenda Schuck. He had lived in the area for the last eight years. He worked for Century Flooring in Melbourne, Ark.
He is survived by: one son, Tristan Schlender of Hardy; one daughter, Breann Schlender of Hardy; his mother and step-father, Brenda and Paul Smith of Hardy; his father and step-mother, Erich and Jane Schlender of Baroda, Mich.; one step-daughter, Haley Dawley of Kentucky; one brother, Rodney Schlender of Hardy; three sisters, Mindi Burke of Texas, Tamera Mesare of Texas and April Warner of Cherokee Village; one step-sister, Nichole Amaya of Branch, Mich.; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Jan. 19 at the Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland, Ark., with Rev. Gene Garner officiating. Burial followed in the Bronaugh Cemetery near Hardy.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Ark.
